Akai Tsuru Chan
A personalised portrait capturing a difficult time In Nicole’s life as well as a turning chapter. It is a story about miscarriage, loss, depression and finding hope through sadness and coming out the other side. Nicole is half Japanese hence janpanese title ‘Akai Tsuru Chan’ which translates into the english as ‘Little red crane’. The red crane is a symbol of her loss as well as a hidden blessing for the future. A thousand silver and white cranes captured in flight given the cranes symbolic nature of healing and hope during challenging times. It is also believed that a thousand paper cranes need to be made for a desired wish to come true.
